KRISTIN KAYE has been telling stories since she could speak. It began with the neighborhood kids. She once had them all believing that in her spare time she was the gorilla on Gilligan’s Island. Then, her passion moved to the stage. In addition to performing and directing, Kaye wrote several plays including her one-woman show, What is Done is Done, shown in New York and Chicago. With the technology boom, Kaye’s storytelling expertise expanded to include award-winning adaptations of literature for CD-ROM and the creation of original shows for Interactive TV. Most recently, Kaye has returned to the simplicity of pen and paper (and laptop). Her book, Iron Maidens: The Celebration of the Most Awesome Female Muscle in the World, was a finalist for the Oregon Book Awards and named by Utne reader as “one of 5 new titles for women who resist easy definition” in 2006. Her favorite subjects include food, business, technology, design, popular culture, bodybuilding, travel, fuzzy monsters, theater, green living and everything in between. She indulges her tre curiouso nature as a freelance writer and ghostwriter. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and daughter.
